30mm solid timber frame
Built on a 30mm solid timber frame — substantially thicker than the board used in lighter-weight divan bases, and the reason ours stay square instead of flexing.

30mm solid timber frame
Every base and headboard is built on a 30mm solid timber frame. A thicker frame resists flexing under load, and it is flexing that leads to sagging slats, creaking joints and a base that works itself out of square. Lighter-weight divan bases are often built on board around half this thickness.
Premium upholstery fabric
Heavy-weight velvets, chenilles and linens, all UKFR-certified. Tightly woven so they resist pilling, hold their colour and don't thin at the corners where the bed takes daily contact.
High-density foam
Deep, high-density foam padding across the base and headboard, so the upholstery stays plump and even instead of compressing into hollows within the first year.
Why this affects the price
A 30mm frame, certified fabric and high-density foam cost more to build than a thin board base with light wadding. It is also the difference between a bed that is still doing its job in year five and one that isn't.
Free UK delivery by our specialist two-person team, who place the item in your room of choice and take all packaging away.
Vacuum upholstery lightly and rotate the mattress every few months. Spot-clean with a soft, damp cloth — avoid soaking the fabric.
