Why choose an upholstered bed?
An upholstered bed frame is wrapped in fabric or velvet from the headboard to the foot, so it is soft to lean against and the headboard becomes the focal point of the room. Ours — the Preston, Oxford, Lichfield and Melbourne — feature tall winged or deep-buttoned headboards and a sprung slatted base.
Frame vs ottoman vs divan
A frame has a slatted base and no storage but the lightest, most open look; an ottoman bed adds lift-up storage; a divan adds drawers. All three come in the same fabrics.
Sizes and fabrics
Single to super king, in plush velvet, chenille and linen-look fabric in grey, cream, blush, navy and green. Headboard heights of 110–140cm suit high ceilings; go lower in a room under 2.4m.
Care and assembly
Vacuum the fabric monthly with a soft brush and blot spills. Frames arrive flat-packed and take two people about an hour; pair with any of our mattresses.
