Getting the bar stool height right
Measure from the floor to the underside of your counter or island, then subtract 25–30cm: that is the seat height you need. Most UK kitchen islands are 90cm, which needs a 62–67cm stool; a bar at 105–110cm needs 75–80cm. Allow 60cm of width per stool.
Backs, swivels and gas lift
All our stools have backs, which makes them comfortable for a long breakfast. Fixed-height stools in velvet with gold or chrome legs (Valentino, lion-knocker and quilted-back designs) match our dining chairs; gas-lift stools adjust in height and swivel, which is useful if the island is shared by adults and children.
Matching your dining chairs
Most of our stools are made in the same velvet colours and leg finishes as our velvet dining chairs, so an open-plan kitchen-diner can run one look. See also bar furniture and dining benches.
Care
Vacuum velvet weekly and blot spills; wipe metal legs with a damp cloth.
