Choosing a marble coffee table
A coffee table should sit 30–45cm from the sofa, at roughly sofa-seat height (40–45cm), and be about two-thirds the length of the sofa. Our marble coffee tables match our dining tables — Louis, Arianna and Ariel designs in grey, white, cream, black and black & gold marble on chrome or gold bases — so you can run one finish through an open-plan room.
Marble vs ceramic tops
Natural marble has unique veining and needs coasters and occasional sealing; ceramic and sintered stone versions are non-porous and wipe clean. Both are heavy, so they stay put. See the same finishes in our console tables and lamp tables.
Matching the room
Pair a chrome-based coffee table with grey marble and grey or black sofas; a gold-based one with cream marble and cream, mink or blush seating. For dining rooms, the matching table is in our marble dining sets.
Care
Wipe with a damp cloth and pH-neutral cleaner, use coasters for drinks, and lift rather than drag. Re-seal natural marble once or twice a year.
