Built on a hardwood frame, made to be lived in
The Ascot Charcoal Fabric 3+2 Seater Sofa Set is the practical end of the range. A deep charcoal grey weave hides everyday marks far better than a pale fabric, which is why it is the version we recommend for households with children, dogs or an open-plan kitchen-diner where the sofa is in the line of fire.
How the Ascot is built
The Ascot has a boxy, low-slung modern shape with wide padded arms that flare slightly outwards, and split back cushions topped with a raised pad that sits behind the shoulders. The seat cushions are individually filled rather than one continuous bench, so they can be turned and plumped to even out wear. The whole frame sits on short dark feet that lift it just clear of the floor, which makes vacuuming underneath straightforward.
The fabric is a textured woven chenille-style upholstery — a tight, slightly nubby weave rather than a flat cotton. It is the finish that gives the Ascot its depth of colour, and it is more forgiving of light scuffing than a smooth fabric.
Styling the Charcoal Ascot
Charcoal anchors a light room. Put it against pale walls with a cream or oatmeal rug and the contrast does the work — no accent colour needed. In a darker room, break it up with textured throws in bone or camel so the sofa does not disappear into the wall.

Frequently asked questions
Does the price include delivery? Yes. Two-man delivery to your room of choice on the UK mainland is included in the price shown — there is no separate delivery charge at checkout.
Will it fit through my door? The 3 seater is 200cm wide and 87cm deep, the 2 seater 155cm wide. The back cushions lift off, which reduces the height you need to manoeuvre. Measure your narrowest doorway, hallway turn and stairwell before ordering — our team can talk you through it if you are unsure.
Are the seat cushions removable? Yes. Both the seat and back cushions lift out, so they can be rotated to spread wear evenly.
Can I buy the pieces separately? The 3+2 set is sold as a pair. The matching armchair is sold on its own and can be ordered at the same time or added later.
How do I clean it? Vacuum the weave regularly with an upholstery attachment and blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Do not soak the fabric or use bleach-based cleaners.
Dimensions are approximate and measured at the widest points. Fabric colour may vary slightly between screens and batches.
Sofas held in stock are delivered across the UK within 1–10 days by our specialist two-person team, who carry the sofa to your room of choice and take all packaging away.
If a size or colour is showing as available to order, the expected back-in-stock date and delivery window are shown next to the price above and updated as our stock schedule changes.
Before you order, please measure. Check the width and height of doorways, hallways, stairwells and any tight turns on the route to the room. Most of our sofas arrive in sections or with removable feet, but corner and U-shape units are large single pieces — the dimensions for each part are listed under Dimensions below.
Full dimensions for this model are listed in the description above. Measurements are taken at the widest and deepest points including arms and cushions, and may vary by up to 2cm as every frame is finished by hand.
Assembly is minimal — typically the feet screw on by hand and corner or modular sections clip together. No tools are needed for most models. Recliner and electric models are supplied ready to use; simply connect the supplied transformer to a standard socket.
Velvet
Brush the pile gently in one direction and vacuum on a low upholstery setting every couple of weeks. Blot spills immediately with a clean dry cloth — never rub, as this crushes the pile. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to prevent fading.
Bouclé & Chenille
Vacuum with an upholstery brush, never a beater bar, which can pull the loops. Snagged loops should be trimmed level with scissors, not pulled. Blot spills with a barely damp cloth and allow to air dry.
Genuine Leather
Dust weekly with a dry microfibre cloth and condition every 6–12 months with a quality leather cream to keep the hide supple. Keep at least 30cm from radiators and direct heat sources, which dry and crack the surface.
PU & Faux Leather
Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid solvents, bleach, alcohol wipes and abrasive cleaners. Keep away from direct heat and prolonged sunlight.
All fabrics
Rotate and plump loose seat and back cushions weekly so they wear evenly. Foam and fibre fillings settle by up to 10% in the first few months — this is normal and not a fault.
Every sofa carries a 5-year guarantee on the frame and a 1-year guarantee on the mechanism, springs and electrics against manufacturing faults.
You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Please keep the original packaging where possible and let us know before returning so we can arrange collection. Full details are on our returns policy page.
